Talking to young people about alcohol can help educate them about the potential consequences of drinking and keep them safe. The important thing is not to leave it too late. Most young people have already been drinking for a year by the time their parents or carers start talking to them about alcohol.
Brighton & Hove City Council have developed a new leaflet to help you talk with a young person about alcohol. Click here to read it (to save it onto your computer, right-click and select ‘save target as’ / ‘save link as’).
October 2011 – DrinkAware have launched a Parents Site to help explain why, when & how to start talking to your child about alcohol, whatever their age. http://bit.ly/6WKeYH
